OVERVIEW

The Ares™ cable attachment is a fully integrated, functional trainer and lat pull down / low row attachment that fixes to your existing PR-4000 or PR-5000 power rack. This saves major space, by bringing a ton more versatility and cable exercises inside the rack, while preserving nearly all the original functionality. The Ares™ features dual weight stacks of 260lbs each (with an option to upgrade to 310lbs per stack) that you can use for unilateral exercises.

FEATURES

THE TROLLEYS

THE TROLLEYS

Light and smooth trolleys with a knurled handle and oversized pop-pin are easy to move with one hand, but strong enough to handle heavy weight. They're lined with a special plastic to protect your upright.
PULLEYS AND CABLES

PULLEYS AND CABLES

The Ares™ features more than 30 aluminum pulleys with custom retainers to keep the cables on track. The front pulleys have a 180-degree swivel for versatility and the ability to work outside the rack.
WEIGHT STACKS

WEIGHT STACKS

Two 260lbs weight stacks made from hot-rolled steel have a 2:1 ratio (100lbs feels like 50lbs), ideal for functional training. Upgrade the stacks to 310lbs or 620lbs total.
LAT AND LOW ROW

LAT AND LOW ROW

The Lat and Low row can be used for unilateral work or combine both weight stacks via the “banana attachment” for the full effective weight of 260lbs.
ATTACHMENTS AND ADDITIONS

ATTACHMENTS AND ADDITIONS

The Ares™ comes with Urethane D handles, a knurled hard-chrome lat pull down bar and low row bar, footplate for low rows, a connector banana, and four 2.5lbs weights for micro-adjustments.
COMPATIBILITY

COMPATIBILITY

The Ares™ is compatible with the PR-4000 6-Post 24” + 16”, 30” + 16”, 41” + 16”, 16” + 16” / PR-4000 4-Post 16” / PR-5000 6-Post 30” + 16”, 41” + 16”, 16” + 16” / PR-5000 4-Post 16”. The Ares™ is available for both 80” and 93” racks.

    4 Vs 6 Post

TLDR, the 4 Post is nice, but if you've got the space, get a 6 Post, or slightly longer crossmembrrs jf possible. If you've got the money, get the 2.0.

Pros: The pulleys are buttery smooth and having the stack make using the cables much easier compared w a plate loaded option. I feel a much better mind muscle connection w this system.

Cons: It's the v1, the 2.0 addresses pretty much all of the shortcomings this has. Watch a few reviews on youtube like the Ares 2.0 by GGR. The main pitfalls of the four Post that I haven't seen online are centered around the cable clearance between the pulley assembly that slides along the post with the pull up bar when left attached, and the fact that you will need to reset their position constantly if you use leg rollers for lat pull downs. Additionally there is very little room to slide a bench in for bench press, mine barely fits enough to get by, but doesn't work for incline press as they base doesn't collapse as the system rises. The 6 Post with the shortest cross members would remedy both of these issues.

    Outstanding equipment

The engineering and machining on this equipment is precision. They are launching an ares 2 and I don’t know what they could improve.

    Fantastic Quality

Arrived efficiently after order and delivered to the front door. Took my son and I well over 5-6 hrs to assemble due to a couple of missing parts, but once assembled, works like a dream.

Amazed at how small the footprint is and how solid the rack is. With the extra weight stack, found there is no reason to bolt it into the floor. Will purchase REP equipment in the future.

When comparing to similar racks from other companies, this was a great price, without sacrificing quality.

Can’t wait to work out every day!

    Best Home Gym Addition

We are absolutely loving our Area Cable attachment, it takes up little space in our home gym but offers everything a traditional cable machine would. It was tricky to put together but so worth it!!

    Highly recommend

With a few tweaks, this attachment is perfect. I added an aftermarket attachment for the low row to make it higher and it's perfect. Having it integrated into my rack is awesome.
